Verbytsky, Mykhailo

Mykhailo Mykhailovych Verbytsky(1815-1870), Ukrainian Greek Catholic priest and composer, he is known for composing an alternate melody to the song(Ukraine's glory has not perished), which later became the national anthem of Ukraine. In 1833 he entered the Theological Seminary in Lviv, there he became seriously engaged in music. He wrote many liturgical compositions.
